Troubleshooting an AquaSense SV1 or AquaFlow SV2 Smart Valve in the field using Aquana Mobile
This article describes troubleshooting steps for an AquaSense SV1 or AquaFlow SV2 Smart Valve in the field, using Aquana Mobile
Introduction
These instructions provide troubleshooting solutions for resolving valve-related issues in the field.
They cover how to reboot the valve, connect via Bluetooth, change the valve position, and check the network connection.
By following these instructions, field technicians should be able to efficiently diagnose and resolve a wide range of valve-related problems, thereby minimizing downtime and ensuring optimal system performance. If these instructions do not resolve the problem, please submit a support ticket.
1.1 Restart the Valve with a Magnet Swipe
Restarting the valve can often resolve temporary software glitches or communication errors.
Restart the valve in case of these instances:
-
Missed Check Ins, and
-
Cannot connect via Bluetooth through the Aquana Mobile App
Refer to the magnet swipe article for specific instructions.
1.2 Connect via Bluetooth
Once the valve has restarted, Connect to it via Bluetooth using Aquana Mobile. Connecting via Bluetooth will allow you to do several things:
- Check Network Connection
- Update Geolocation
- Change Valve Position
1.3 Change the Valve Position Using Aquana Mobile
When connected to Bluetooth you will be able to change the valve position if needed. Please refer to the article for changing the valve position using Aquana Mobile for specific instructions for changing the valve position, which includes open, close, reduced flow, and sediment turn.
Note: We do not recommend changing the position of a closed valve in case any fixtures are open downstream of the valve.
1.4 Check Network Connection
If the valve is struggling to check-in, signal strength can be determined by checking the network connection in the field. Refer to the article that illustrates the steps for checking the network connectivity of a valve using Aquana Mobile. This requires proximity to the valve and connection via Bluetooth.
