How to troubleshoot an Unknown valve position for AquaSense SV1 or AquaFlow SV2 Smart Valves

This article explains how to troubleshoot an Unknown position for an AquaSense SV1 or AquaFlow SV2 Smart Valve

If you're Smart Valve shows "Unknown" position in AquaControl or Aquana Mobile, please follow these steps in order:
  1. First, send the device a new position command from AquaControl web to see if this resolves the Unknown position.   This can be any position command.  Once the device checks in and receives the command, it will attempt to execute the command and if successful will send a command response.  The position displayed in the interface should update.  If this does not resolve the condition and it continues to show Unknown, then ...
  2. Try to change the valve position using Aquana mobile via bluetooth.
    1. If possible, confirm that you can hear the motor turning while it's attempting to execute the command.
    2. Does the application show a timeout before completing the command?  If so, your unit may need to be replaced, please submit a Warranty Claim.
