How to Field Activate the AquaFlow SV2 Cellular Smart Valve
Instructions for how to activate and configure the AquaFlow SV2 Cellular Smart Valve.
Field Activation Instructions - Add a New Cellular Valve
These instructions are for field activating an AquaFlow SV2 that utilizes Cellular network communication protocol. Make sure the valve is powered up with a magnet swipe before beginning. Also ensure you have cellular coverage before you begin. If activating an AquaFlow SV2 the antenna should be connected before the activation process begins.
In addition, the AquaControl Web should be configured with your Activation Defaults before you begin. This will allow the mobile app to automatically load the settings for activation, enabling you to quickly scan and verify the information during the activation process.

STEP 1 - SELECT THE LOCATION |
The first step is to choose the location the device(s) will be activated into. Do not activate devices into your top level account, a new location must be created either prior to this process or during. Tap in the large white box as shown to choose the location. |
If the device location already exists within your platform account, you can search for the location in the search field at the top, or select the location from the list below. You can also select “Add New” to create a new location. |
If you are Adding New, enter the new location name and select the parent location. The parent location is almost always the top level - Your Platform Account. You will be asked to confirm the new location. If you have questions, refer to your Sales Representative or the Aquana Customer Success Team. |

You can manually enter the serial number from the side of the valve, or tap “Scan Barcode” to use your mobile device’s camera to scan the valve’s barcode. Scanning the barcode will automatically populate the serial number field. Some 3rd party meters are difficult to scan. If the scanner doesn't work, please type in the serial number. Then tap “Next” when done. |
Review and confirm the information about the valve. Then tap Next. |
The firmware on the valve will be checked. If it is not up to date you will have the option to update it. Tap Next when done. |
Enter a new name for the valve in the Valve Name if desired. The valve name is typically set to equal the service address where the valve will be installed. This can be changed later. Check-in Frequency should be set at this time. This should be coming from the AquaControl activation defaults. However, all AquaFlow (SV2) Cellular devices should default is 720 minutes, or every 12 hours to conserve battery life. Make sure that you and your Aquana rep input the correct check-in frequency within activation defaults before installation. Check with your sales representative or deployment manager for check-in frequency values outside of Aquana defaults. Primary Use defaults to Primary Cold Supply. This will be the setting in the majority of cases. Tap Next when done. |
CELLULAR NETWORK SETTINGS |

When actigating a cellular valve, network settings will have been pre-configured. Tap Next to proceed to the section of the instructions for Setting Geolocation. |
SETTING GEOLOCATION |
Tap the LOCATION icon to use your mobile phone to determine geolocation coordinates of your current position, or you can enter a street address to capture the geolocation for the valve. This information is used by the Aquana Platform for mapping device locations. Tap Next when done. |
CONFIRM DEVICE DATA |
Scroll through and confirm the Valve data on the next screen. Tap Confirm when done. |
